I Don’t Do New Year’s Resolutions

I’m not one of those people that marks the New Year as a time to look back and analyze past failures, and then fill my head with optimism that the next calendar year is going to be better. Often times these “resolutions” never get accomplished and I’m forced to realize yet another failure. I’m not putting myself through that this go around. Instead I’m going to set some goals and make them realistic.

43 by 43

As the new year approaches, everyone and their brother starts to make New Years resolutions. I’ve never been one of those that needs to wait until the next year to start on a new goal. If I have a goal in mind, I start on it right away. This year is no different, since I’ve been fully committed to losing the extra pounds I put on over the past year, I’m setting a goal for my birthday in April. I want to be 190 pounds, which would be a total weight lose of 43 lbs.

And We Are Off

2014 wasn’t such a bad year. For me personally it was most likely the most rewarding year I’ve had in several. There were too many great events to list, but one of the more significant was meeting my wife and marrying her. Although I told myself I’d never get married again, I also found that putting limits on anything is a bad idea.

So here we are, a new year and fresh with new opportunity. Already my business has picked up right where 2014 left off. Busy, rewarding and with a bright outlook for the future. With the coming of the new year, I had a chance to reflect on the prior year so that I could change some of the misfortunes into something a bit more positive. One of those things I’d like to change is how I mix my personal life with my work life.
