And We Are Off

2014 wasn’t such a bad year. For me personally it was most likely the most rewarding year I’ve had in several. There were too many great events to list, but one of the more significant was meeting my wife and marrying her. Although I told myself I’d never get married again, I also found that putting limits on anything is a bad idea.

So here we are, a new year and fresh with new opportunity. Already my business has picked up right where 2014 left off. Busy, rewarding and with a bright outlook for the future. With the coming of the new year, I had a chance to reflect on the prior year so that I could change some of the misfortunes into something a bit more positive. One of those things I’d like to change is how I mix my personal life with my work life.

Because I was getting married, moving to a new state and more or less pushing the “reset” button, I worked every opportunity that I had. Although financially this worked out to be a good step, my personal life suffered because of it. In 2015 I have promised myself and my family that this won’t be the case. It’s time to stop and smell the roses, and that’s exactly what I’ve started to do already.

I’ve decided that this year, as I’ll be turning 40, my health was going to be at the top of my list of priorities. I’m not one of those “New Year Resolution” type of people, I’m more of a “Do It Now” type of person. Why wait for the calendar to change? So I’ve gone back to the eating plan that helped me lose 30+ lbs before, and the key ingredient was to stop drinking beer. I’ll miss you beer, but my body and age say no more. Although it really won’t be that hard, as I hardly have the chance to sit down and enjoy the beer’s I’ve collected. Living a longer life with my wife and 4 kids will be much more rewarding than life in a box way to early.

As I do every year I write about how I’m going to maintain all of this and post as much as possible. This year I’m not doing that. I’ll see you when I see you!
