Get To The Points

It’s that time of year again, and that means business travel. Well for me it just means travel in general. Traveling, whether it be for business or pleasure is something I find very enjoyable and do often. I’m not so thrilled about the delays that the weather has caused me lately, but it’s part of the gig. When you’ve made a decision to stick with American for flights, you’ve also taken a gamble that your flight will be unaffected by either Dallas or Chicago weather. One or the other is bound to have a delay of some sort, no matter the season. Continue reading “Get To The Points”

My Other Sites

I was recently asked why I don’t post more “technical” stuff on my blog. The truth is, I do post a fair amount of technical details, but it’s not going to be found here. I maintain separate websites for separate pieces of content. Some may argue that I’d be more successful if I put it all in one place, but I argue against that.

Those that read my stuff here, are interested in me as a person and the personal side of me. Those that follow me at Worthless Stuff, want to read about obtuse and funny things. They aren’t so interested in my weekend with kids or my travels. Continue reading “My Other Sites”

A Full Day of Moving

My move is “almost” complete. I have over a month to get out of my current residence, but our new home is waiting to be lived in. Yesterday, with the help of family and friends, we nearly completed the moving process. And just like every other move, I realized how much crap I really have. My garage is full of plastic boxes that either house child memories, or T-Shirts that never got printed on. Continue reading “A Full Day of Moving”

Home Sweet Home

SoCal Living
Home Sweet Home

I’m excited to announce that the Hasselkus family has moved. Well sorta. We will maintain our residence 19 blocks away until the house sells, but we’ve moved to a nice three bedroom house in Costa Mesa. Our new crib is perfect in all the right ways. Newly remodeled, plenty of space and made for entertaining. It also has a very large yard which Baxter can’t get enough of.

More on this, with a photo gallery as soon as all the furniture is delivered and we get set for our house warming party. Since we now have a bocce ball court, I think we are going to schedule this for when it’s a tad warmer. It should probably take us that long just to iron out all the kinks that come with a newly redone home.

We are excited to move in and invite our friends and family in to enjoy our lovely home.

I Don’t Do New Year’s Resolutions

I’m not one of those people that marks the New Year as a time to look back and analyze past failures, and then fill my head with optimism that the next calendar year is going to be better. Often times these “resolutions” never get accomplished and I’m forced to realize yet another failure. I’m not putting myself through that this go around. Instead I’m going to set some goals and make them realistic.

Here are a few of my goals for 2018: Continue reading “I Don’t Do New Year’s Resolutions”

2018 Will Be The Best Yet!

AA Admirals Club
American Airlines Admirals Club

2017 is now behind us, and 2018 is bound to be the best year yet. I can’t really complain about last year, as it really wasn’t that bad for me. It ended a little rough, but as I start the new year I now realize the ending was a blessing in disguise. I ended the year and started the new one, spending time with my little cuties in Houston. They say what you do on the first day of the new year will be what you do all year. I’m hoping that only part of that is true. I like seeing my twins, and traveling in first class, but I’m not terribly excited about having cancelled flights and sitting in the Admirals Club for 4 plus hours (first world problems I know).
